Orthodontics

Now you and your family can have all of your dental care and your orthodontic therapy delivered in one place. Smile Design Dental offers two different types of braces to best serve the needs of our patients. Whether you are an adult, or a pediatric patient, our Florida dentists can save you trips back and forth across town or to other providers during your orthodontic treatment.

Traditional Braces

Experts recommend that all children should have an orthodontic evaluation by their 7th birthday. During this time the teeth are in a key phase where adult teeth are beginning to erupt – so proactive treatment can help avoid complex needs later on. Conventional braces are great for our pediatric patients and teens.

Orthodontic therapy is used to correct a number of problems, such as:

  • Overbites or jetted out teeth
  • Underbites
  • Crowded or crooked teeth
  • Teeth with gaps between them
  • Malocclusion caused by pacifier use or thumb sucking

Depending on the severity of your bite, traditional braces are beneficial for adults as well.

Invisalign Orthodontics

These clear orthodontic aligners makes it seem as if you don’t have any braces at all! Invisalign uses a series of custom molded alignment trays to gently guide your teeth into the right spot without metal braces. Just wear your aligners for a couple of weeks and then change them out with the next set in the series. We’ll have you stop by one of our Smile Design Dental locations every 6 to 8 weeks to check in on your progress and ensure everything is going the way it should.

Do you need orthodontic treatment but are hesitant to wear traditional braces? If you are – then Invisalign orthodontics is a smart choice. With Invisalign, patients at Smile Design Dental can take advantage of features like:

  • Clear braces that look invisible
  • Removable alignment trays
  • No dietary restrictions
  • Fewer orthodontic appointments
  • No metal brackets or wires

The removable aligners make it easier to care for your smile, and you can eat whatever you want. Just take them in and out as you would a retainer or whitening tray.

Who Needs Braces?

Straighter smiles aren’t just for looks – they also improve your chance of better oral health. If you suffer from crowding or misalignment, correcting your tooth placement can help you avoid problems like:

  • Periodontal disease
  • TMJ disorder
  • Cavities
  • Worn teeth and fillings

It’s never too late to enjoy healthier, straighter teeth. In fact, it’s one of the best things you can do to promote a stronger smile in the future.
